STILL/MOTION
STILL / MOTION · THE FIELD NOTES

Turn a photo into a 5–10 second video

Upload a reference image, describe a movement and create a short video. STILL / MOTION supports landscape, portrait and square output, with a follow-image option to help preserve the original composition.

01

How photo animation works

Start with a clear JPG, PNG or WebP image in the studio. Choose Image to video, upload the photo, describe the motion, select 5–10 seconds and submit the generation request. The studio shows queue and generation stages while the video is being made.

Use a portrait, product photo, illustration or landscape that you own or have permission to use. Real-person photos are supported; obtain the permission of the person pictured.

02

Choose the frame before generating

For a tall portrait, start with Follow image or portrait output. For a wide photograph, use Follow image or landscape. Square output is also available. A mismatched frame can change the composition; the studio warns when the selected format differs substantially from your image.

Keeping the original orientation helps avoid unnecessary reframing, but it does not guarantee identical anatomy or identity in every frame.

03

Describe one motion at a time

Try: “The person gently turns toward the camera and smiles. Subtle hair movement, steady camera, soft daylight.” Describe what should change while keeping the setting and camera simple.

Fast dancing, multiple people and occluded hands can cause distortion. Begin with a five-second test and inspect the result before spending balance on a longer take.
